Frequently Asked Questions
Is G2G Driving Academy and its BDE course approved the by Ministry of Transportation?
Yes, we are most definitely approved! In order to be approved by the Ministry of Transportation (MTO), driving schools must use a curriculum which has been approved by the MTO as well as use qualified instructors who meet specific standards as set out by the MTO. We are audited by the MTO to ensure we are in compliance with these standards. We passed with flying colours!
When should I take Driver's Ed? Before my G1? Right after I get my G1?
Both of these times are perfect. Taking the course just before going for your G1 written test will help you be more prepared for the test. On the other hand, taking Driver's Education right after you have your G1 is also helpful. We can space out your in-car sessions to make sure you get the most out of the program! We STRONGLY suggest you begin our course right after or just before you pass your G1. DO NOT leave taking our Driver's Education course until last minute! A short time line to complete the course often results in an unprepared, stressed student. Lack of driving experience/practice(students should practice 3-5 hrs after each in-car session to prep for the next) and being too focused on passing a test rather than safety behind the wheel and being a proactive driver, is a recipe for trouble. We will do our best with short deadlines but we CANNOT guarantee we will be able to meet this type of request. Please remember, G2G wants to prepare our students for a lifetime of safety on the road, not just to pass a 15 minute driving test.
Are the driving lessons private or will there be other students in the car during my lesson?
Our driving lessons are private. One-on-one instruction has been found the best approach to teaching in the vehicle.
Will I be picked up at home for my in-car lessons?
Yes, you will be picked up at home or school and returned to home or school for each in-car lesson if you live within the town of Strathroy or Mt. Brydges otherwise the student will be expect to meet their instructor in Strathroy .
I am unable to attend one of my in-car lesson, what should I do?
If you can not attend a schedule in-car lesson please contact your instructor ASAP. We enforce a 12 hr notice of cancellation rule at our School. If 12 hrs is not given, a $40 cancellation will be charged. Please be mindful of your appointments and make sure you have your G1 permit with you for all lessons. We cannot let you drive the vehicle without it and will have to cancel your lesson without it.
Will 10 hours of in-car driving lessons ALONE be enough for me to pass my G2 Road Test?
In most cases the answer to this question is NO (although there are always exceptions!). The 10 hours of in-car lessons are intended to teach you the skills needed to drive safely, however as with any new skill, practice is necessary to master it. We strongly encourage students to practice between each of their lessons with a parent or other qualified driver 3-5 hrs after each in-car session to prep for the next. With the 10 hours of formal training and sufficient practice, you will be ready for the G2 Road Test.
What if my insurance company wants proof that I have taken a Beginner Driver Education Program?

Driving Simulators? We often get questions about Driver Simulators as many Driving Schools promote them as a promotional selling feature.
Ask yourself this...Does playing a gambling video game ensure you a win in a Casino? Only In-Car Driver Training can prepare novice drivers for real life situations, like; how to steer a tire blow-out, dealing with hazardous weather conditions, skid control, threshold braking and many other situations.
