Parents/Guardians
As a new driver, your student has a lot to learn about how to react to the constant changing risks they face on the roadway.
We strive to provide them with skills that will help ensure they will reach their destination safely ever time they are behind the wheel. After the 20hrs of Classroom Instruction the next step will be the 10hrs of In-Vehicle Training.
In-Vehicle Lessons will include:
* Collision Prevention-anticipating dangers/risk management
* Defensive Driving
* Driver Distraction/Peer Pressure
* Driver attitude/Time management
* Parking maneuvers-parallel, hill, stall, reverse
* Three Point Turns
* Freeway Driving
* Shoulder Recovery
* Gravel roads/shoulder drop off
* Driving in Adverse conditions
* Skid Control
* All Emergency Maneuvers
An in-car lesson typically involves a welcome on arrival, licence check, followed by a briefing of the lesson planned. Throughout the lessons the instructor will be proactively correcting and coaching the students recording their strengths and confidence level in all maneuvers. During the last lesson the student will drive a "mock road test" in preparation for their G1 Exit Test. Recommendations for any improvements needed will be given to the student to help ensure they will pass their Road Test.
We encourage you, the Mentor, to take an active part in your students Drivers Education training. You can make a huge difference in how well they retain and apply the information we are teaching by being involved and helping them learn. Talking with them about driving laws, traffic signs and road safety while they are riding in the car with you gives them real world examples of what they learned in the classroom. We suggest 3-5 hrs driving time between lessons to ensure the student is prepared, confident and ready for the next lesson The more knowledge and practice the students have in the beginning stages of driving; the safer and better prepared they will be on the roadway.
Thank you for choosing,
